CHARLESTON PUBLIC LIBRARY
Located in the Bricktown Commons shopping center, a 58-acre retail complex developed by the Economic Development Corporation, the LEED Gold branch is the first Net Zero/Net Positive library in New York City. With funding provided by the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) to enhance energy efficiency, the branch boasts a solar panel array on the roof which will provide nearly 100% of the energy that the building uses throughout the year.
AAL performed the sitework for the project including asphalt and concrete paving, drainage/stormwater, and utilities.
PENINSULA MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT
The Peninsula is a dramatic re-imagining of the former Spofford Juvenile Detention Center into a vibrant, mixed-use campus and light industrial building home to small start-up or growing manufacturing businesses, featuring a health and wellness center, fresh food grocer, affordable housing for residents of the Hunts Point neighborhood and the Bronx, and a live-work community for the South Bronx tech and creative sectors.
AAL performed the sitework for the project including asphalt and concrete paving, drainage, landscaping and sidewalks and curbs.
MERMAID AVENUE REVITALIZATION PROJECT
In partnership with the NYS Governors Office of Storm Recovery and the Alliance for Coney Island, AAL undertook a streetscape improvement project along Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Project involved tree guard installation, placement of historic benches, and landscaping.
TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD STORMWATER DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
AAL undertook this infrastructure project in collaboration with Biltwel General Contracting and the Town of Hempstead to strengthen flood resiliency in coastal communities in Long Island. Work included the installation of stormwater piping, check valves, and other drainage structures as well sidewalk installation and asphalt paving.
ROCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF COURSE REHABILITATION
Funded by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, the project involve rehabilitating sections of the Rockland Championship Golf Course, including paving and patching of golf cart paths, installation of erosion and sedimentation control measures, and
landscaping.
MCINNIS CEMENT TERMINAL TRUCK LOAD OUT LANE
The project involved concrete paving, drainage, and other sitework associated with the build out of a second truck lane. AAL had previously completed the sitework for Phase 1 of the project and performed the sitework for the development of a marine cement terminal.
ROY WILKINS PARK GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE
In partnership with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection and NYC Department of Parks, AAL undertook a green infrastructure project at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens. Project included erosion control measures, bioretention, pond dredging, wetland restoration, landscaping, and restoration of adjacent sidewalks and curbs.
NORTH AVENUE BRIDGE UTILITY RELOCATION
Funded by the NYS Thruway Authority and in partnership with Triumph Construction, the project involved asphalt paving for the North Avenue Bridge over I-95.
